Our mentor skills training is designed to support a range of work-based learning programmes by providing quality and consistency in mentoring. Workbooks will support learning pre-course, during the study day and post course. A variety of supporting documents will help to deliver high quality mentoring skills and support mentees. This training is mapped to national occupational standards and can be used and adapted by any organisation.
We provide tools and resources for trainee mentors including a study day. We also provide best practice templates for recording mentor meetings, an overview of mentoring standards and various resources to support learners and assist mentors in their role.
This training is open to all staff who meet the entry criteria. It is intended to support those groups of staff who currently have no formal mentoring training available to them.
Please note that this training does not meet professional body accreditation.
Application is by nomination from your manager. All trainee mentors should be approved, nominated and supported by their managers and employing organisations to benefit from the full mentor skills training.

Lunch is not provided, so please bring your own food. Tea and coffee will be available.

Please complete the pre-course work sent to you and bring it on the day along with your completed nomination form. Your manager should have met with you to discuss your mentoring role and help you complete the nomination form.
If you cannot attend on the day please call 0113 887 1597 and leave a message. We will contact your place of work and discuss with your manager attendance on the next available course.
