About the Event

Veterans Health Study Day

Date: Wednesday 15 May 2019
Time: Roughly 9:00 - 16:00
Venue: Army Reserve Centre, Norwich, NR3 2AB

There are 2.8 million Armed Forces Veterans in the UK – almost as many as there are diabetics- they have interesting and specific needs. The aim of this event is to raise awareness in registrars of Veterans healthcare and some of the support available from the third sector. It is a very interactive session where you are on “receive mode” for no more than 30 minutes at a time. You will meet veterans, representatives from the forces and the charity sector who will directly let you know about the issues that they face and solutions that can turn heart sink patients into some of your most uplifting and inspiring patients.

Please complete this e-learning course - RCGP veterans e-learning course before attending the event. This course aims to cover the psychological and physical issues which are commonly faced by veterans and their families, and to outline some of the resources which are available to help them. The course also discusses retention of records and confidentiality.

The RCGP e-learning course has been developed in partnership with the Royal British Legion and with support from Changing Faces. It was funded by the Department of Health.

Where the venue is a military base, it is very important that, during the registration process, you provide your car make/model as well as your car registration as this will be needed for security purposes. It is also important that you bring photo ID with you on the day.
